Description
**Nemesis: Aftermath** primarily features the Epilogue Mode, a brief 45-60 minute game with 5 turns, played after a standard session of the Nemesis base game. In this mode, a period has elapsed since the events of the base game, and players use new Characters who were not involved in the original game to investigate the Nemesis. The ship still bears the marks of past events, so remnants from the previous game will impact the Epilogue.
The Epilogue Mode is shorter than a regular Nemesis game but presents a greater challenge with a dynamic gameplay experience. Players must manage Personal Requirements rather than Objectives and work together to handle various Alerts. Additionally, players with more self-serving goals might choose to accept the Lucrative Offer. The mode also introduces the Shuttle board, a new small ship docked to the Nemesis, which provides 4 additional Room slots. The expansion also includes 4 new Rooms labeled "2."
You can play the Epilogue Mode with fewer players than those who participated in the main game.
**TRAITS:**
Nemesis: Aftermath introduces Trait cards for each Character from both the base game and the expansion. These Trait cards offer specific advantages and disadvantages and are placed face up next to the Character board, affecting the game for its duration.
**NEW CHARACTERS:**
The expansion adds 5 new Characters. When selecting a Character, players use a draft card to choose either a base game or Aftermath Character of a chosen color. For example, the red Aftermath Character (the Convict) can replace the red base game Character (the Soldier). Each player retains their selected draft card to prevent others from choosing the same color Character. Note that the Convict and the Soldier cannot appear in the same game. The Aftermath Characters offer a different experience compared to those from the base game.
