How to Play: "Catan - Traveler" follows the same rules as the classic "Catan" base game. At the start, each player places 2 settlements on the island of Catan. When the dice roll numbers matching the terrain hexes adjacent to your settlements, you receive resources. Use these resources—ore, brick, grain, lumber, and wool—to build roads, upgrade settlements to cities, or purchase development cards to turn the game in your favor. Trade with opponents if you lack specific resources. With strategic trading and a bit of luck, you can achieve victory.
Key Differences Between "Catan - Traveler" and the Classic "Catan":
- All components fit into a compact case, taking up half the space of the classic game.
- Game pieces are stored in drawers, making setup and cleanup quick and easy.
- Roads, settlements, and cities are equipped with pegs that secure them to the game board, preventing pieces from shifting due to wind or accidental bumps.
- The dice are stored in a shaker with a transparent cover, making them virtually impossible to lose and allowing you to roll them anywhere, even without a flat surface.
- Setting up the game board takes only seconds: open the case, arrange the 6 double-sided board pieces, and enjoy countless combinations. The compact version offers varied terrain setups, from balanced to sparse.
- Designed for pairs, the compact version includes 2-player rules and components for settling Catan with a partner.
