The Explorers & Pirates expansion builds on the core rules of the CATAN base game but introduces several new mechanics. For instance, ships are now designed for exploration and can navigate freely across the board. You can use these ships to transport settlers, crews, fish, and spices across the seas. Your objective is to establish new outposts on undiscovered islands and complete the Council of Catan's missions with skill.
CATAN Explorers & Pirates Expansion Components:
Your missions are diverse. First, you'll need to confront pirates who threaten Catan's coasts. Equip your ships with crews and seek out the pirates' lairs. Those who prove themselves as the bravest will earn fame and gold from the Council of Catan.
As you journey, you will find abundant fish shoals waiting to be collected. Bring these fish back to the home island, and the Council of Catan will reward you.
Lastly, you'll meet friendly villagers who trade valuable spices. Deliver these spices to their stronghold, and the Council of Catan will be pleased. Additionally, the villagers' knowledge will help you sail more swiftly across the seas and improve your combat against pirate ships.
